It was priceless

2 tickets to space chimps movie: $13 (andrew was free!)

popcorn, drinks and skittles: $20

being part of my boys first movie theater experience: priceless

ok, so space chimps was NOT my first choice.

i had every intention of seeing WALL-E b/c it started at 11:20am and i didn't want to interrupt naptime too much...until amy talked me out of it. she said WALL-E, the main character, doesn't even talk and she had heard some kids that saw it were confused about the movie.

ok, how about some kung-fu panda? nope...not playing until 1pm and that would totally screw up naptime.

so space chimps it is.

we arrived in plenty of time. we purchased our tickets and headed to the snack bar. the boys were pleased as peaches when i handed them each their own snack box complete with popcorn, skittles and fruit punch. i got popcorn and coke. we get our straws and napkins and start heading to the theater...which was at the very end of the long hall. so i'm carrying a bag of popcorn, a jumbo coke (yes, johndeeremom, it really was coke!), a fist full of napkins and andrew's snack box and coaxing eli down the hall.

we were the first ones in the theater so we had prime choice of seating. i tried to settle the boys into their seats but the adult sized chairs proved to be too big. so i head back down towards the snack bar for two booster seats.

finally the boys are settled. exactly 2.7 minutes later andrew has to pee. of course he does. so we head back down the long hall towards the snack bar to the ladies' room. i make both of the boys pee b/c i don't want any more interruptions. heck, i even peed. tmi?

so we're back in the theater and the boys are happily snacking while watching what is basically commercials.

finally the movie begins. exactly 4.2 minutes into the movie andrew announces he's ready to go home. no way man! about half way thru the movie eli has to pee...again. i said, "you gotta be kidding me." he smiled and said, "i got to poop." great.

so there we go, heading back down the hall, which seems a little longer than before. eli peed for 1.8 seconds and was finished with his bathroom duty. so worth the trip down that hall again.

throughout the movie the boys were moving around...one minute they were in my lap, the next minute they were standing up and the next minute they were switching seats with each other.

honestly i have to say the overall experience went well. i managed both boys pretty well by myself and we all had a good time.

LOL. Glad you enjoyed your soda. :) I recently took the 4 year old to his first movie. We had a potty break shortly after the movie started too. He was ready to go about 2/3 into the movie and to be honest, so was I. So we left. I guess I will never know how Kung Fu Panda ends. Too bad for me. Bravo for taking 2 kids. I don't think I am ready to try that yet.
