Why don't dogs go to church?

We dog-sat for my mom over the weekend. Her dog is a chihuahua mix named Breeze. Here's a conversation between me and Eli from Sunday morning.

me: Are you ready to go to church?
Eli: Yeah.
me: Yes ma'am.
Eli: Yeah ma'am. Why?
me: Because that's what we do on Sundays. To learn about Jesus.
Eli: Breeze go?
me: No.
Eli: Why?
me: Because dogs don't go to church.
Eli: Why?

Yeah, that's where the conversation ended because I had no answer. Eli seemed unconcerned about Breeze as we headed out of the door. Thank goodness.
